A little about us...

Sancus and its Origins

The launch of Sancus Retirement Planning in 2018 came about following 30 years of industry experience when its founder and current MD, Rob MacKenzie became dissatisfied with the large IFA practice process of putting the interest of the shareholder return first, the regulator second and the client often being a poor third. Determined for the client to be at the forefront of every decision, every consideration, Sancus Retirement Planning’s motto is:

Having worked with major brands in Standard Life, Santander, accountancy firms PKF (now BDO) and Littlejohn Frazer (now PKF Littlejohn) and laterally the pension actuarial group Punter Southall, Rob has built a wealth of experience and knowledge in appreciating what works and what does not work for private and corporate financial planning.

Our advice process puts you at the centre. We believe the key to good financial advice is establishing strong relationships with our clients.

 

Getting to know you

This is our opportunity to get to know each other so that your adviser understands your current situation and financial aspirations. They will also explore your attitude to investment risk to ensure any future solutions meet your expectations and needs.

At Sancus Retirement Planning, we bear the cost of this initial meeting, as well as giving you the choice to meet with your adviser at a location of your choice. Some clients enjoy the familiarity of their own home, whilst others prefer the more formal setting of a meeting in the City.

 

Client Service Agreement

We provide a range of different service levels to suit your needs. Whether it be bespoke discretionary investment management to ad hoc advice queries; we can facilitate whatever is appropriate. From a ‘traditional’ service with a yearly review meeting and valuation, to a fully bespoke service that enables you to choose how frequently we provide these services to you, your adviser will go through the options available and together you can agree the one that suits you best, whilst being in full view of the fee structure being proposed prior to coming on board.

 

Behind the scenes

Now it is time for us to do the hard work. Your adviser, with the support of our dedicated support team, will prepare your financial strategy, to cater for your short, medium and long term goals. To do this, they will carry out whole of market research and find the most appropriate solutions that will help you reach your financial objectives.

 

Implementing the advice

Your adviser will meet with you for a second time and go through your proposed financial plan. They will explain each of the solutions to you and answer any queries you may have, which will also involve covering off a detailed discussion of all costs and charges applicable to the solutions proposed. Once you are satisfied with your financial plan, it will be a case of putting the plan into action.

 

Keeping on track

The key to any sound financial planning strategy is ensuring it reflects any changes in your financial situation. Your adviser will schedule regular review meetings with you, in-line with the service level agreed. At these meetings, we will review your short, medium and long-term objectives and go through any significant changes in your circumstances. If your circumstances do change and you would like to adjust the level of service we provide, your adviser will be happy to arrange this with you at any time.
